A Baltimore firefighter will be one of the contestants competing on the upcoming season of "American Ninja Warrior."
Baltimore City firefighter-paramedic Nick Green will be participating Sunday at Rash Field in one of six qualification rounds for the NBC series that have been held around the country since March, WBAL-TV reports. The field will be narrowed down to 30 contenders who will compete again Monday, with the top 15 earning a trip to Las Vegas for the finals.
"I'm proud to be a fireman," Green told WBAL. "I'm proud to be a husband and father and everything. Not necessarily proud that I'm on the show, but I feel extremely lucky and appreciative that I'm on the show, that I made the cut."
And he's no stranger to "American Ninja Warror" and pitting his athletic prowess against the show's challenging obstacle courses. Green has participated in two previous seasons—season 8 in 2016 and season 10 last year. But he never advanced past the qualifying rounds on those occasions.
The 11th season of "American Ninja Warrior" premieres May 29 on NBC.
